"Years have past since the great wars, when the coalition between elves and men lead by the hero
Link defeated the forces of Prince Ganon...

After the war Ganons forces fled back north and peace was restored in the southern lands.
The Lynel tribe broke loose and established their own kingdom in the west and allied themselves
with the other now free people: The humans of Hyrule in the far south, the elves in the
eastern woods, and the stubborn dwarfs in the borderland mountains. Ganons powers crumbled and his
magic could not longer keep the Gleeok dragons controlled so they escaped into the wilderness just
like many other enslaved creatures.

There was a period of prosper for the victorious side and the Triforce pieces that Link had won in
the war was distributed among the free people of the south to prevent them from falling in the wrong
hands and to prevent all future wars.
Meanwhile Ganon was gathering his loyal servants and with great help from the mighty wizard Carrazar
he raised a new army of elite soldiers in the Dark Tower of the Northern Desert. Now the hordes of
the north are on the move once more and everybody is preparing for another war. Ganons scouts has
already been able to capture princess Zelda from Links palace, but he is missing one thing to ensure
victory, the Triforce pieces that are in the hands of the southern alliance... "

Ever dreamt about playing as a bad guy?

As Kain, the Dark Towers most promising young Draknut knight you will be sent out to "take back"
the Triforce pieces stolen by Link and help Ganon to once and for all to gain power and win the war.
You will get some help from Ganons forces and from both human and elf collaborators, be sure to
threat everyone well that helps you in your quest. ( i.e. you cannot kill the shop owners... )

This game started in ZQuest 1.84 well over 15 years ago and was thought to be lost for long. It has now
been finished and play tested over the last 2 years time.
It has been converted from a lot of older versions like 1.88 and 1.92 and so on to get some extra
features so it is a bit strange in it's mix of old and new things and features...
The size has basicly been the same since 2003 but I always add more stuff, enemies, sounds, weapons graphics
etc. So it was never finished. Then i thought i lost all back ups for it for years. But then it emerged
back from the dead, and i thought i better finish it once and for all...

The game is mostly about exploration and fighting and not so much puzzles and riddles althou there are
clues in forms of riddles in texts.
The story isn't that complicated but has a few mayor twists.
It's most like the original Legend of Zelda in gameplay, with minor inspiration from both Adventure
of Link and Zelda III. The game is supposed to be 98% non-funny and meant to have a bit more realistic
and grown up approach to things such as items, enemies, graphics, sounds and storyline.

Fighting should not be to hard I guess, somewhere between 1st and 2nd quest of Zelda 1 is what I'm aming
for, and you can always come back and play after finding a few more things to help you in you quest, and
there is a lot to find; 28 selectable items and about 30 non selectable as well as a large amount of
heartpieces and bushes to burn, and many other secrets.
Really some secrets are very hard to find.
I was thinking a lot of Metroid when creating secrets and stuff.
There is a very large variety of enemies and most have there own skills and weaknesses.
There is some parts of the game which you has to choose what to do next that WILL have impact on the game
but not in the first part of the game.

Estimated gameplay is 20 hours +

Features:

	Over 2 full overworld maps
	9 dungeons
	18+ smaller caves and such
	5 villages

	200+ custom enemy types
	75+ midis
	120+ sound effects

A lot of custom graphics and items.

In game things:

Compass: Ok, this should point to the triforce, but remember there is sometimes several floors on the same
map making this somewhat useless in towers, and Dmaps are a bit messy also...

Keys: There is small keys in the game, they should be enough keys if you do everything right but you are
likely to have to buy some.
There is Big keys for dungeons, like Zelda 3. You gotto have them to enter boss rooms as well as item
	 	rooms in most cases.
There is also a magic key for any small lock in the game.

Maps: Ok, so the menu maps are messy and strange don't trust them diffrent floors are on the same map and
such. The maps of the the overworlds should work good.

	Rupees:
		Green  = 1
		Blue   = 5
		Opal   = 10
		Red    = 20
		Black  = 50
		Yellow = 100
		Gold   = 200

Items:

Amulet: Should make invisible enemies visible.

	Armour: ( Rings in Zelda 1 )
Green: What you start with. Armour are expencive and found in shops.
		Blue: 50% damage
		Red: 33% damage
		Black: 25 % damage

Boots:	Hidden in an ancient temple, they protects you from damage floors for a amount of magic.

Bracelet: Makes Kain stronger so he can push some blocks, there is 2 types.

Flippers: Ok so this is one of the best things in the game open up a lot of new places and secrets.
You can dive on spots and swim outside the world and a lot of cool things.

Ladder: Open up a lot of new places in the north and west after found in a early dungeon.

	Rings:
Charge Rings ( Pendant): Reduces the time to charge hammers or swords for a powerful attack. Has a round
red or Blue Stone, Blue is faster. In the shape of a pendant.

Heart Rings: Blue, Red, and Black pointy stones in the ring. Should slowly refill a small
                             amount of health.

Magic Ring: Green, Blue, and Yellow triforce stone. Slowly refilles you magic, quite useful
			    later on.

Peril Ring ( Ankh shaped wooden amulet): It helps when you have little life left.

Raft: A fun thing that open up new places. Is used from landings.

Scrolls: Can be found in caves, gives you some new attack moves. Not that great i think, but cool.

Shields: Small is the starting one, some graphics is messed up so when you strike and such you will
see the wrong shield and such.
A larger red one is bought and reflective against fireballs etc.
The Mighty Black Shield is reflective against some magic as well.

There may be some hidden inside features and stuff in the game that you may or may not notice.

Weapons:

Bows:	There is 2 bows which have diffrent speed.
		Arrows:
Wooden: Costs 1 Rupee and has low damage but infinite duration.
Red: Medium damage, penetrating and long range. Only costs 1 Rupee.
Silver: Good damage, long range and costs a small amount of magic the best overall arrow.
Bomb: Has high damage, limited duration and costs some magic
Money Shot: Costs 2 Rupees and has very limited duration but very high damage.

Bait: Some enemies often monsters are attracted to it. Can have other uses.

	Bombs:
Blue bombs: Hurts everybody a lot, good for blasting stuff and walls.
Super bombs: Even more powerful ( 4 times a regular bomb ) and a must to break some things.

	Boomerangs:
Wooden: Basic weapon for collecting and stunning.
Magic: Light magic boomerang good overall weapon.
		Fire: Heavy burning throwing weapon.

	Candles:
Blue: Is the basic one, good for burning small trees, bushes, carpets, and enemies. Furry enemies
gets hurt more as well as ice ones.
Red: Small magic cost but stronger and unlimited burning.

Cane: Cost a lot of magic to use and not that good but funny to use and hurts a lot. Some Wizards has left
		it on the floor somewhere

	Stones:
Din's Fire: Red stone with a lot of destructive power, very useful.
Farore's Wind: Black stone that should be used for teleporting to the start, can't say if it
really works good so better not over use this...
Nayru's Love: Blue stone, used for protection, don't know if it is that useful.

Hammers: Ok, hammers are good on breaking shields and smashing armour, there is 2 of them. You can smash
fences and other things to into the ground. Hammers are slow but good against some enemies.

Hookshots: Short and Long, I there are some places this could/should be used to swing across but not
very much implemented in this game.

	Lens of Truth:
Cool object like the scaning in Super Metroid for seeing clues and secrets.

	Letter/Potions:
The letter is a recipi for medicine and is obtained by a strange old man, and could be given
to his women for them to make life potions for you.
		Just like in the original.

	Swords:
Basic: Just a standard Sword that can be used for swinging and thrusting. You need to have
more hearts for reciving better swords.
White: A Better sword in every way.
Magic: Great sword and the best beaming sword.
Black: Fast deadly sword with not that strong beam. Find it in a well hidden cave close to a lake.
Dagger: A black dagger with good power and good beam. However you cannot swing it.

Wand/Magic book: Good magic throwing weapon and the book boosts it even more, to bad it costs some magic.

Whistle: Let you move between dungeons.

Enemies:

Humans: Are quite slow and easy to kill but some use magic, and some knights are pretty strong.
Beware some soldiers throws deadly swords!

Elves: Often faster and better than humans, annoying and has a lot of strenghtnesses and weaknesses.
A lot uses throwing weapons and some are magicians, there is powerful sorceresses, and callers.

Dwarfes: Are very strong, slow and hard to kill.

Lynels: Are deadly, but not to strong. Or are they?

Animals: Have a lot of weaknesses but are often aiming and fast.

Undead: Are strong, scary and slow. Learn how to kill them.

Gleeoks: There is a lot of very different dragons in the game, all very customized. Some are really, really
strong and some you are able to kill after a few dungeons if you know their secret.

Monsters: All have their special skills so watch out!

Bosses: Well most are not that strong. But some need to be killed with special weapons.
I guess you will need to take at least one medicine on most if you are there for the first time.
All have some sort of special "storys" and some have small cutsceenes and talk a little bit.
Or should have if this isen't broken.
Later on they will be special battles for sure...

Graphics:
Has been ripped from a lot of sources mostly over 10 years ago.

Most are from BS Zelda.
Zelda 3 reworked tiles.
Some comes from Final Fantasy Games IV, V, VI ( Wolfes are a reworked sprite from Shadows dog, and some "enemies" i ripped,
see which you can find! )
Harvest Moon ( Animals, houses and stuff )
ZeldaTP tiles
ZeldaSSBM tiles
Colour Reduced BSZelda Mountains

Just to name some. Most are heavily reworked.
A lot of different tile sets has been incorporated, the DoR and Pure tileset and others which I
sadly don't remember...
Thunder and rain and water tiles are from somebody.
Most tiles are reworked, to get a bit older graphics style and more realistic look to the landscape and creatures.
Not so silly and funny looking as Z3 for example, and not to cartonish.
About a third of the sprites is drawn from the start by me, feel free to use however you like.

Sripts:
judasrising helped me with some scripting.
Some sign script is used that somebody else than me created back in the days, I belive i followed some tutorial how to make it.
L/R script by Lejes.
Item pickup message by Joe123

Future planes:

Adding more caves.
Adding more dwarfes.
More backstory for Kain. Hometown etc.
Cutsceenes.
Scripts, Lantern shop, etc.
Another ending.
Maybe some Link stuff.
Great Library.
More Clues.
Counters.
Extra fluff, specials etc.
Moving around some things.
Enemies.
Better sounds.

If i have forgotten somebody or something please do tell!
Everything i have made is free to rip and redistribute or whatever as much as you like. Just spread things around
I don't care about credits. But you have to buy me a beer if you comes to Uppsala, Sweden sometime... ;)

You can always e-mail and ask whatever you like. I'll give everyone the password for the game if they like if they
provide some feedback. Or you can get the cheats codes...

WARNING:

The adventure is not for the weak of heart, as you will see fake blood and be able to kill both men, women and
friendly looking animals. There is maybe some very minor "dirtiness" but I guess the language is clean.
The game have some minor suggestive comments and there is talk about "religion", magic, political system, mental
health, and life questions and such. Pretty deep questions in this game I say...

Sorry for all the bad English as it's my second language...

Happy Playing!
